COUPLES COMMUNICATION CLASSES
Classes & Programs
The Couples Communication Class is a research-based approach to teaching couples (premarital, committed, or married) how to communicate effectively, manage conflicts without damaging closeness, and how to preserve and enhance commitment, friendship and intimacy. The premise is that it's not how much you love each other that makes a relationship or marriage work; it's how you resolve differences and preserve fun and sensuality that keeps a relationship strong. This one-day course uses teaching, videos, role-plays, group discussions and private coaching to educate couples in an atmosphere of informality and comfort. Participants will learn how to:
- Communicate Effectively;
- Manage Conflicts;
- Preserve & Enhance Commitment, Friendship & Intimacy.
Cost: $365 per couple (includes program and materials)

Instructor: Kerstin Miller, MDiv, LMFT at 610-889-0419, ext.
Kerstin Miller, LMFT, specializes in Couples therapy. Partners often find themselves feeling lonely and disconnected. Kerstin’s main goal for couples therapy is to help partners hear and understand each other in a deeper and more empathic way. In Kerstin’s therapy sessions as well as in her Communication Classes, Couples are guided to identify their defensive behaviors and learn how miscommunication can escalate into arguments. Couples will learn skills that facilitate more understanding and gentleness between partners. It is this experience of empathy through good communication that helps couples to connect and to rediscover hope and optimism for the future.
Hold Me Tight Couple's Workshop
If you and your partner feel stuck in repetitive conflict, or distant and disconnected, learn how to break old patterns and develop more understanding and closeness.
This workshop, based on Dr. Sue Johnson's ground-breaking book, Hold me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love, introduces a well researched and effective approach that helps couples move from frustration and loneliness toward a secure, loving bond. In this one-day seminar, you will learn how to use information from the new science of love to deepen and strengthen your emotional connection, heal past hurts, and change ineffective patterns of interactions. The class uses videos, group discussions, role-plays, and exercises (practiced privately) in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
