Workshop Description

Multiple orgasms occur when a woman climaxes more than once during a sexual experience. In this two-hour workshop, Dr. Shtarkshall will present the results of a study he performed with Dr. Binik of 450 women from several countries who answered a quantitative and qualitative Internet questionnaire regarding multi-orgasmic capacity. Only women who had at least two orgasms in one sexual event participated in this study.

The research team studied socio-demographic variables and other characteristics of multi-orgasmic women including the sexual and nonsexual aspects of their lives. The statistical method focused on variation and strong patterns in the data, and clustering similar subjects into the same group. Four types of multi-orgasmic women were identified: (1) Late Bloomers, (2) Overachievers, (3) Young Keeners, and (4) Ho Hummers. The characteristics of the four groups will be delineated in the lecture according to the variables that were used to identify them.

The goal of the workshop is to promote understanding of the processes involved in achieving multiple orgasms in order to provide psychoeducation and psychotherapy to women regarding orgasmic capacity. Attention should be directed to assessing realistic expectations and levels of distress related to achieving orgasm.

Workshop Level – Advanced
