Community Partnership with Nationalities Service Center Featured in Philadelphia Neighborhoods
December 3, 2018 | This month, Council for Relationships’ Community Partnership Initiative was featured in Philadelphia Neighborhoods, a Publication of Temple University’s Multimedia Urban Reporting Lab. The article, accessible here, spotlights several immigrant families and their involvement with Nationalities Service Center, one of Council for Relationships’ 13 community partner sites across the city.
The Nationalities Service Center provides a range of services to immigrants and refugees, including free mental health services through the partnership with Council for Relationships. Each counseling session includes free language translation services in languages like French, Spanish, Portuguese, Burmese and Arabic.
The Community Partnership Initiative strives to increase access to counseling by bringing therapy to locations convenient for recipients, such as transitional housing centers and schools in low-income neighborhoods.
