Council Honoring Dr. Dan Gottlieb of WHYY’s Voices in the Family, June 8th, 2016

Council for Relationships is excited to present Dr. Dan Gottlieb with the first inaugural Dr. Emily Hartshorne Mudd Award. Please join us as we celebrate the impact of Dr. Dan’s outstanding contributions towards improving family life and relationships in our region and beyond.

This award is named after our founder, Dr. Emily Harstshorne Mudd, who founded Council for Relationships in 1932 as The Marriage Council of Philadelphia. She was a nationally recognized marriage and family therapist and a dedicated champion of women’s rights. This award was created to honor her legacy and is given to an individual whose contributions toward improving family life in our region are unprecedented. The community leaders whom we seek to recognize are agents of change, generators of connectivity, and true partners on the very human journey towards wholeness, personal growth and development. They profoundly shape our community in groundbreaking proportions.

Dr. Dan Gottlieb has been leading the mental health and wellness conversation for more than 30 years with extensive writing and lectures. From Voices in the Family to his six bestselling books, Dr. Dan has mastered teaching understanding and kindness to hundreds of thousands of people. We feel that Dr. Dan, more than anyone, embodies the spirit of this award.

Proceeds from this event will support Council for Relationships in our mission to provide counseling services to all those in need, regardless of background and ability to pay.
