Headstrong Featured on The Today Show: ‘You’re Not Alone’: Hero Veteran Speaks Out on Mental Wellness After War
March 12, 2021 | For members of the military, mental health struggles have long been a hidden wound of war. Carson Daly met with retired Staff Sgt. Spencer Milo at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum to learn about his experience with a traumatic brain injury in Iraq, his mental health battles and turning to the nonprofit Headstrong for help.
Council for Relationships’ Operation Home and Healing (OHH) provides counseling and services for active service members, veterans, and their families. Specially-trained therapists work with the veterans and their loved ones to help heal the invisible wounds on their individual, couple, and family relationships. Council’s therapists aim to help veterans and their families heal and become better partners, parents, and family members. OHH is led by an esteemed advisory board of military psychology experts.
Council for Relationships is the only organization partnering with Headstrong to provide therapy to veterans in the Greater Philadelphia area. Our partnership with Headstrong provides cost-free, rapid response, stigma-free, and confidential therapy to post-9/11 veterans and veterans who have experienced military sexual trauma. Veterans who seek treatment through Headstrong will be contacted within 48 hours. To get started, visit Headstrong’s website.
