Bebe Martinez, MA, MSW, LSW specializes in experiential therapy. She integrates a combined approach of psychodynamic, EFT, EMDR, and Expressive Arts therapeutic modalities. Along with being a therapist, Bebe is also an artist and enjoys using visual arts, creative writing, psychodrama, music and sound, movement and dance, inner child work, nature-based activities, etc. to help facilitate the healing, change, and growth of those who work with her. She believes clients are the experts on their own experiences and seeks to support them in forming their own narratives. Bebe holds an authentic and safe therapeutic space to explore, connect, and heal. Through the use of curiosity, humor, and compassion she fosters a collaborative, affirming, and non-judgmental environment that supports a client’s holistic self.
Originally from NYC, Bebe has been employed within the social service field for over 10 years and has been a support for children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked with the general and forensics population to address issues of trauma, abuse, and mental health. Bebe graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College. She has completed EMDR Therapy training with The Institute for Creative Mindfulness and is currently enrolled in the psychodynamic clinical program at Bryn Mawr College and Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy with The Gottman Institute.
Bebe welcomes those from all professions, backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender expressions. She identifies as a queer cis woman of Puerto Rican descent.
