Kelly Wallace-Baxter, MA-CMHC has experience working with individuals and couples who have experienced trauma (grief/loss, racism, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse), relational hardships, gender transitioning, coming out, attachment breaches, and other forms of distress. Kelly works with young adults, college students, couples, and adult individuals. If you and/or your partner/spouse have experienced dysfunction in your life and relationship, there are tools that can help you reconnect and heal through self discovery, family of origin, and collaboration.

As with you, Kelly represents a multitude of identities. Kelly is a husband, student, sibling, teacher, friend, mentor, member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and many other identities. Kelly creates and maintains a safe space that highlights gender affirming care, generational patterns, social constructs, and emotional wellbeing.

Kelly obtained his Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and his Bachelors degree in Psychology from Bowie State University. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate from Northcentral University in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is currently a doctoral student at Drexel University. His degree is focused on Marriage and Family Therapy. He utilizes a person-centered approach which helps individuals, couples, and families recognize the strengths within themselves. He also is trained in Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Sandtray Therapy, and Relationship Enhancement Therapy. Kelly is currently working towards becoming a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He works with clients to help them recognize historical/cultural and systemic influence on their physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and professional selves. Kelly has a passion for working with the LGBTQIA+ community and other underrepresented groups.
