Dr. Will G. Barnes, CMFT

Dr. Will Barnes is the Lead Military Clinical Consultant for the Council for Relationships Inc, previously serving as one of the founding directors of Operation Home and Healing. He serves as the primary Subject Matter Expert for the Council for Relationships in all matters relating to military and veterans culture.  He is the Co-Lead Instructor along with Dr. Nancy Isserman in the Post-Graduate curriculum courses related to Military Culture, and Military Clinical Competencies. He is the subject matter person in all training on Military Clinical Competencies for the Clergy, Clinicians and other Health Care Professionals in the outreach training Initiatives on behalf of the Council for Relationships.  He has over 23 years of military service in the U.S. Army as the JFHQ Chaplain. He has over 40 years of professional service and accomplished expertise as Associate Professor at graduate and doctoral levels. Served as Clinical Social Worker in Mental Health Services, Pastoral Psychotherapist in Family Medicine Practice, Parish Pastor, and recently Management Consultant for the Department of Defense for the Defense Suicide Prevention Office as subject matter expert in Faith Based Initiatives, Spiritual Resiliency, Suicide, and Military Culture.  He has published several book chapters in major publications.  Dr. Barnes is a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor as an alumnus with certificate and diploma in the CFR’s post-graduate AAMFT Certification Program.
