Postgraduate Certificate Program in Marriage and Family Therapy

Since its founding in 1932, CFR has been a clinical and educational center for therapists. This program is one of the nation’s premier training programs for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT).

Explore our specialized academic options:

Clinical Track

The core of our training program, this track provides training for mental health professionals and clinicians, and prepares them for licensure and functioning independently as MFTs.

Clergy Track

Pennsylvania allows clergy to be eligible for licensure as MFTs. This track leads to license-eligibility and is designed for priests, rabbis, imams, and other clergy.

Sex Therapy Program

This program is designed for clinicians who want to expand their clinical repertoire in sexuality. Eligible applicants must have a master’s or higher-level degree in such fields as therapy (including MFTs), psychology, social work, nursing, and medicine.

The Marriage and Family Therapy program at Council for Relationships is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), coa@aamft.org.
