Mary K. Mackey, CPA is Chief Financial Officer of Council for Relationships, where she leads and executes financial strategy, planning, and reporting to support organizational growth and long-term success. She is deeply committed to CFR’s mission of improving mental health and relationships and is passionate about using her financial expertise to ensure lasting impact in the community.
With nearly 30 years of experience, Mary has a proven track record of transforming organizations and driving growth. She spent more than 15 years in public accounting before moving into the nonprofit sector, where she consulted as CFO and Controller for organizations in healthcare, education, youth development, and environmental services. After three years consulting for a national medical organization, she was asked to join as Controller and was later promoted to Chief Financial Officer. In that role, she built a high-performing finance department, secured millions in new revenue, and implemented systems that improved efficiency and cash flow. Her leadership helped shift the organization’s outlook from projected reserve depletion to sustained growth, ultimately supporting a doubling of both revenue and workforce.
Mary earned her B.S. in Accounting from Temple University and has been a licensed CPA in Pennsylvania since 2001. She also holds executive leadership certificates from Cornell University. Her professional affiliations have included membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
