Dr. Damstra is board certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and she sees child, adolescent, and adult patients. Much of her practice focus is on anxiety and mood disorders in both children and adults and on ADHD and development disorders in children. Dr. Damstra offers psychiatric evaluation of children and adults, psychotherapy, and management of psychiatric medications. Dr. Damstra believes in getting to know her patients well, even if she sees them for medication management. Dr. Damstra works collaboratively with her patients and, if appropriate, with parents and other family members as well.
Dr. Damstra earned her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and her medical degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine. She completed a pediatric internship and adult psychiatry residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City and a fellowship in child psychiatry at Columbia University. Dr. Damstra is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
