Fees
Fees
As a nonprofit committed to providing high-quality therapy for all, our fee structure is unique.
Our Fee Structure
Fees for staff therapists can start as low as $70/hour and increase accordingly based on the licensure status, training, and experience level of the staff clinician. CFR is currently not in network with any insurance plans. Upon request, we will provide monthly statements that you may submit to your insurance company if they provide reimbursement for out-of-network providers.
The following fee icons are meant to guide you to find a therapist who meets your needs.
- $ – $70-$99
- $$ – $100-$139
- $$$ – $140-$169
- $$$$ – $170+
The highest end of a therapist’s fee scale represents the full cost of providing this service. To increase financial accessibility to therapy, many staff therapists offer slots of reduced-cost therapy using a sliding scale model. If you can afford it, we ask that you pay the staff therapist’s full fee for therapy to increase the availability of reduced-fee sliding scale slots.
Please note that our clinical fees increase annually in July. We review fees annually to align with industry standards, cost of living for clinicians, and organizational business and program-related costs. We realize that fee increases may be difficult for some of our clients and work to keep fees as low as possible.
Questions?
All of our clinicians are available by phone to answer questions related to their services and fees. Contact information may be found on each clinician’s profile. Our Client Care Team is also available to answer questions and to help you find a therapist: call 215-382-6680 ext 1.
Psychiatry Fees
The ranges above do not include psychiatry fees.
Payment Methods
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, credit card, HSA (Health Savings Account), and HCFSA (Health Care Flexible Spending Account).
Insurance
CFR is currently out-of-network with all insurance providers. Many insurance plans, however, will reimburse some portion of out-of-network mental health treatment costs. CFR will provide you with the documentation you need to get partial or full reimbursement, provided that your plan covers those services.
Call the number on the back of your insurance card to verify your benefits by asking the following:
- What is my coverage for out-of-network mental healthcare? Below are some commonly used billing codes. Please ask your provider to confirm the correct code.
- 90791 for intake with a therapist
- 90792 for intake with a psychiatrist
- 90834 for 90837 for individual therapy
- 90847 for family therapy
- What is my deductible that needs to be met before I would receive reimbursement for these services?
- Do you cover telehealth services (for those seeking online therapy)?
If your insurance company requires additional information about the provider or treatment, please contact your clinician.
Low-Fee Therapy
CFR interns provide therapy for $20 to $65 per hour. Fees are set based on income and no one is turned away due to financial limitations. Low-fee sessions are intended to provide access to counseling for those who aren’t able to otherwise afford it. If there is a waiting list for services, verification of income may be required.
Fees to see an intern are generally lower than co-pays, therefore CFR does not provide statements for reimbursement to insurance companies for Low Fee Therapy.
