Sonja Spangler, LSW provides a warm, nonjudgmental, and genuine presence for your self-exploration. She believes in creating a space in therapy that honors who you are and what your story is. Her main focus is on the therapeutic relationship, one that invites you to express your authentic self and be seen. Her collaborative approach will invite curiosity and growth as connections are drawn from your past to your present, from your external to your internal environments.
Sonja uses mindfulness interventions to help cultivate a deeper and more compassionate relationship to self, while also using motivational interviewing techniques to take concrete steps towards your goals. She works with individuals who are hurting from depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief and bereavement, trauma, life transitions, and questions of identity. Sonja adopts a feminist approach to therapy and is particularly sensitive to women’s issues. She also enjoys working with young adults who are figuring out their roles in this world.
