Older Adults Program

CFR’s Older Adults Program (OAP) helps communities flourish by providing individual, relationship, and family therapy to older adults, specialized training to mental health professionals, and educational programs to communities, organizations, and groups with elders and their caregivers.

Services

OAP provides the following services to older adults (60 years old +) and organizations that work with older adults:

  • Quality individual, relationship, and family therapy for older adults.
  • Group classes for older adults on issues of emotional stability and growth during retirement, building deep relationships, grieving loss and change, and embracing new ways of finding purpose and direction.
  • Consultation and education for organizations on providing excellent therapeutic treatment for older adults. This work includes identifying and honoring diverse cultural and systemic contexts, which can impact how best to help elders identify and meet psychosocial needs and wants.

How to Work with OAP

Our relationships in our workplaces, families, communities, volunteer organizations, and faith organizations are all fundamental to our well-being. During the aging process, significant changes in these aspects of our lives can deeply impact our ability to feel connected and find purpose.

Our therapists are experts in supporting older adults (as individuals, couples, and families) to navigate the emotional road of retirement, loss of a loved one and bereavement, anxiety, and depression, as well as creating a meaningful and joyful next chapter of life.
