It is absolutely essential that my practice experience encompasses feeling not only safe and supported but also free of judgment or “my way or the highway” thinking. My goal is to work collaboratively with you, showing up as both an advocate and fellow brainstormer, as I witness you become more and more aware, that you are truly the expert in your own life. Every human being has the right to not only feel their feelings but to also be allowed the space to pinpoint the people, places, or things that have gotten in the way of being their best selves. If any of these words resonate with you, I invite you to take the next step with me on a journey of both feeling and healing.

Although a therapist by trade, I first wear the hat of humanoid, daughter, sister, and aunt among others. With every one of these roles comes responsibilities, setbacks, realizations, and challenges. I know personally, what it is like to see those that I care for, struggling with a number of issues ranging from mental illness, reentry from incarceration, personal identity, as well as finding overall meaning in life. I have always been able to make others feel comfortable enough to open up and share things about themselves, and I have never taken that for granted.

Council for Relationships (CFR) has afforded me the honor of seeing the importance of meeting people where they are and doing it with both open-mindedness and curiosity. CFR has also helped me to realize what a privilege it is to be let into the lives of others as they share their experiences. I firmly believe that before you can begin your healing journey, you must first begin your feeling journey. With the application of techniques using Cognitive Behavioral, Emotion Focused, and Narrative Therapies, you can begin to more intensely identify the triggers that disrupt your behavior, which leads to a deeper understanding of how fears and assumptions can make you “stuck,” hence remaining caught in a continuous cycle of hurt and anger.

One of the most important parts of the therapeutic journey is the embracing of self-love and self-compassion. It is oftentimes easier to tell those we care about to do it than to do it for ourselves. I say that last part to emphasize the utmost importance of both self-care practices and boundary setting, two must-haves when working on strengthening from the inside out. When I myself am not practicing therapy, you will find me actually practicing what I preach, by engaging in hobbies and activities like going for runs, baking, listening to music, and perfecting my French.
