Dr. April Piercy is a pre-licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who has experience working with individuals, couples, families, and psychoeducational groups. Dr. Piercy has over 15 years of experience in human services, where she has worked as a domestic violence educator, mental health counselor, social worker, and adjunct faculty member. Dr. Piercy’s goal is to create a safe place for clients apprehensive about participating in therapy. Dr. Piercy’s development of a safe environment is demonstrated by her openness, honesty, attentiveness, caring, and encouraging attitude toward clients who need change.

Dr. Piercy has experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist clients with significant changes (i.e., changing negative thoughts to positive thoughts) and using Bowen Family Systems to aid families in examining family unit connections. Dr. Piercy acknowledges that core beliefs can affect how individuals and families view themselves; however, learning appropriate coping skills can support rational and realistic thoughts, which lead to positive changes.

Dr. Piercy specializes in working with clients who have experienced domestic violence, sexual abuse, grief and bereavement, depression and anxiety, and anger management. Seeking therapy can be a massive step in a person’s life, and recognizing that your self-awareness is the key to a new beginning is tremendous.

Rate: $150 | Offers a sliding scale rate.
