Sarafina has a Masters in Family Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. There she focused on a systemic approach to therapy that allows her to examine the whole of people’s life experiences, including past and present relationships, and how they currently impact individual’s mental health. Sarafina combines a macro approach, identifying larger values and goals, with a micro approach that allows her to work with people on day-to-day habits and thoughts that might be preventing them from making changes. Her therapeutic style incorporates Attachment Theory, Bowenian Family Systems Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Most of all, Sarafina believes in a creative approach to therapy, tailoring her therapeutic style to each client to meet their specific needs.
