Dr. DeMaria is an experienced therapist who specializes in working with individuals and couples who are struggling with relationship, marital and sexual issues. As a distinguished professor, author, researcher, and a relationship educator and coach, she is known for her commitment to helping people develop loving and compassionate relationships with themselves and with others in their lives. Additionally, she is an active clinician and often presents workshops and programs through her practice, in collaboration with community groups, and at local and national conferences on subjects such as sexual trauma, family violence, genograms, and relationship enhancement. A primary focus of her clinical practice is working with couples at the “brink of divorce”. Often these complicated relationships involve anger management problems, addictions, and unsatisfying personal and intimate lives. Dr. DeMaria’s approach to therapy is proactive and client-centered and she uses a comprehensive, integrative approach in her work with individuals, couples and families.
